My name is Ben Dunlop, and I started BMD officially in 2019, after a lifetime of experience within the rail industry.

I started my career in 1988 when I started as a British Rail traction and rolling stock apprentice at Stratford in East London. Working through different railway engineering teams around the UK and transitioning into consultancy through privatisation I built a successful career leading technical teams on projects such as West Coast Route Modernisation, Crossrail and Thameslink. Developing my career further into work winning around bid strategies, proposition development and often leading major pursuits and tenders. For over ten years I took business leadership roles within a corporate environment involving full P&L ownership for businesses up to 400 people. BMD Advisory Limited was created in 2019 to enable me to work with organisations in the engineering and transport sectors to help them grow and thrive.

 I also have advanced training within the industry, being a fellow of the IET and the RSA, as well as a Patron for Engineering at Burton and South Derbyshire College, a Chartered Electrical Engineer with a prize winning Honours degree from South Bank University and an Engineering Doctorate in Engineering Management from Bristol University.

I also invest time in my local community as a Board Director and Vice Chairman of the Wycombe Wanderers Football Club Supporters Trust.
